Question: What happens if a West Point cadet gets pregnant?

Hamburger said cadets are not penalized for becoming pregnant. They can receive a medical leave for the duration of the pregnancy, but once the child is born they must not be the childs guardian or legally responsible for the baby.

Why cant West Point cadets get married?

Andrea Hamburger, a West Point spokeswoman, said all four of the nations military academies prohibit cadets from marrying while they are enrolled, but female cadets are allowed to take medical leaves if they become pregnant. Military officials say marriage between cadets could lead to charges of favoritism.
