When should I do my devotions?
While there is no right or wrong time of day, doing devotions first thing in the morning is the best time to avoid interruptions. When was the last time you received a phone call or an unexpected visitor at six oclock in the morning? Perhaps a lunch break fits better into your agenda, or before bed each night.
What does the Bible say about quiet times?
Background. Proponents of the concept point out that Jesus often spent time alone in prayer: Luke 5:16 says that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (NIV). Leslie Hardin suggests that this was Jesus Quiet Time: spending time in prayer and fellowship with God.
Why is quiet time important?
Quiet time gives children a chance to process, organize, and synthesize new information. This helps deepen their learning. Time resting, but awake, helps kids solidify the things theyve learned throughout the day. Quiet time provides an opportunity for this solidification to occur.
