Question: Why Google+ is shutting down?

Google+ is being phased out due to “low usage” and because it turned into something of a security liability for Google; the company has disclosed two significant data leaks that could have exposed information for tens of millions of Google+ users to outside developers.

Why are they shutting down Google Plus?

The main reason for the shutdown, according to Google, is the very low usage and lack of consumer engagement. As much as 90 percent of Google Plus user sessions are less than 5 seconds. As it turns out, Google also discovered a bug in one of the Google+ People APIs, connected to security flaws.

What will I lose when Google+ shuts down?

As part of the consumer Google+ shutdown, we are deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts (other than content were required to keep for legal reasons). Photos and videos from Google+ in your Album Archive and your Google+ pages will also be deleted.

What happens if YouTube shuts down?

If your channel or account is terminated, you may be unable to use, own, or create any other YouTube channels/accounts. When a channel is terminated, the channel owner gets an email explaining the reason for the termination.
