Question: Do Ambrotypes fade?

When cased, tintypes resemble ambrotypes on cursory inspection. The normally rather obvious differences in the three types are often obscured by deterioration and by original process variations. Unlike paper photographs, however, these three types did not fade.

Why did Eadweard Muybridge photograph horses?

In 1872 Muybridges photographic skills were called on to prove whether a galloping horse lifts all four hooves off the ground at one point in its sequence of motion. By 1878 he was photographing horses in motion using batteries of cameras, their shutters triggered by the horses movement over trip wires.

What did Eadweard Muybridge prove?

Muybridges experiments in photographing motion began in 1872, when the railroad magnate Leland Stanford hired him to prove that during a particular moment in a trotting horses gait, all four legs are off the ground simultaneously.
