Why do Norwegians have two last names?
Some people did go back to their farm surname when they got older though. Because of this practice, in many Norwegian records a surname is crossed through with another surname written after it in reference to the 1875 law.
How do you greet in Sweden?
The most common greeting in Sweden is a handshake. It is usually firm and accompanied with direct eye contact. Most adults will shake hands with each person present when entering or leaving a social setting. In rural areas, the custom of handshaking is not as common on a casual basis.
