Austrians tend to wear clothing that is quite formal and stylish. Very smart casual or smart business orientated clothes will carry you through for business, sightseeing and for eating out. Dark colors are generally more popular, as are solid colors.
Is Vienna dangerous at night?
Vienna is a very safe city and in general women and men will have no trouble walking around at night. Karlsplatz station and Gumpendorfer Strasse can be boisterous late in the evening. The Prater and Praterstern can get dodgy at night. Ausstellungsstrasse is best avoided due to sex workers and kerb-crawlers.
How many days is enough for Austria?
Depending on the length of your trip, and taking geographic proximity into account, these are following my recommended priorities: 3 days: Vienna. 5 days: Salzburg. 7 days, add: Hallstatt.
Can we drink tap water in Vienna?
Yes, you certainly can drink the water that comes out of the taps or use it to clean your teeth. If you see a Kein Trinkwasser sign, this means the water is definitely not suitable for drinking. You typically see such signs on large fountains, for example.
