Dating apps are now the most popular avenue for how engaged couples meet with 26% of all survey respondents in 2020 saying they met their significant other online. Approximately 18% of Millennials in our pool of respondents said they met through mutual friends, while 14% of Gen Zers surveyed said the same.
Where do most millennials meet their significant other?
Millennial love takes a more practical approach: swiping through digital photographs. Over a fifth of 25- to 34-year-olds met their partner online – 13% through dating apps and 9% websites such as OKCupid or Guardian Soulmates. Dating websites are most popular with people who are slightly older.

Millennials tend to fear getting divorced and are financially burdened, so theyre marrying later in life as they take time to get to know their partner, accumulate assets, and become financially successful. But some millennials arent getting married at all — and the marriage rate is declining.
