Question: How do you do relative dating?

How is relative dating done?

Relative dating is used to arrange geological events, and the rocks they leave behind, in a sequence. Next time you find a cliff or road cutting with lots of rock strata, try working out the age order using some simple principles: Sedimentary rocks are normally laid down in order, one on top of another.

What era are we living in?

Cenozoic era Officially, we live in the Meghalayan age (which began 4,200 years ago) of the Holocene epoch. The Holocene falls in the Quaternary period (2.6m years ago) of the Cenozoic era (66m) in the Phanerozoic eon (541m).
